Fourth stage of Indoor Archery World Series takes place in Sydney

The USA’s Paige Pearce and Tate Morgan travelled halfway around the world to take gold in the compound events at the Sydney Indoor Archery Festival on Sunday, January 12.

Australian locals Dave Barnes and Madeline Boyle won the recurve competitions.

Pearce defeated Chen Yi-Suan in the final, 148-142, in the compound women’s final. Her qualifying score of 595/600 was also top at the tournament.

“My scores were really consistent all through qualifying and matchplay and luckily that was enough to come out on top,” said Paige.

The Sydney Indoor Archery Festival was the fourth event on the 2020 Indoor Archery World Series.

The circuit now moves to Nimes, France for the fifth stop before finally finishing at The Vegas Shoot on January 7-9, 2020.

Archers who shoot in the hampionship categories will have their score over the first two days of Vegas count towards the Indoor Archery World Series elite ranking.

Pearce’s win in Sydney puts her top in the compound women’s ranking for the circuit.

The top 16 archers will qualify for the Indoor Archery World Series Finals in the evening of Saturday 8, February.

Everyone is invited to watch the title matches in the championship arena starting at 8pm during Archers’ Appreciation night.

There’s still time to register for The Vegas Shoot.
