For the first time in Vegas Shoot history, the Championship Compound Female competition will be a five-way shootdown.
Ella Gibson, Julia 'Morgan' Rives, Tanja Gellenthien, Alexis Ruiz, and Taylor Miller shot clean through Sunday morning's final scoring round for 900.
All previous shootdowns in the category have been head-to-heads, and Ruiz, Miller and Rives become only the 10th, 11th and 12th women in the entire 60 year history of the Vegas Shoot to shoot 900s. (Gellenthien and Gibson both shot 900s in 2024).
"It went really well," said Gibson, who shot 28x on the Sunday morning on the way to her third 300. "Yesterday it went fairly smoothly and it seemed like even nervous shots were landing okay. I'm pretty happy with how the last two days have gone, and I'm forgetting about the first day, so we'll see what happens later!
What will you do between now and the final? "Probably just try and rest, stay chill. not tire myself out too much because I think this kind of shooting is really mentally draining. So maybe have a nap, have some food, and then it'll be what it will be."
"I've never won Vegas, and I'd love to. If I could do it with a whole lineup of women next to me, that would be even more incredible."

Three time champ Tanja Gellenthien made another perfect score despite a more immediate need: "I didn't feel as good as it did the other day, so I was definitely a little more nervous today because the good shots weren't as good as they were. But I stayed strong and managed to get another 900."
"[My] kid is teething and is sleeping really horribly right now. So I'm running on almost no sleep. It's hard to leave him. He cries every time I leave, and it makes me feel so bad. So at least I made it worth it. It may be a familiar feeling, but it doesn't get easier!"
A further milestone was achieved in the category on Sunday when Leann Drake shot the first ever 300 with 30x achieved by a woman at the Vegas Shoot. Drake finished with 898 and 13th place.
Last year's champion Gracen Fletcher finished on 898. A record 11 women made 600 on the second day.

Wow, 45 consecutive tens and nerves of steel at 20! That's incredible! Congrats to Mathias. I bet a winning shot of him with that check would look super cool if you tried a photo to cartoon converter on it!
