Whatever level you're shooting at, some of the top shooters in Vegas have a tip for you...

Gracen Fletcher
2025 compound champion, entered the elite world of the female 900 club
"Just one good shot at a time, just make the best shot you possibly can, and hopefully get in the groove and stay there. Just concentrate mostly on the feel. I've tried saying different words, but that just seems to get in the way. But it's just one good shot at a time."
Marcus D'Almeida
World Cup winner, last year's runner up
"Calm, is the best word to use. Not to be too happy on the first day, not to be so sad. If you have a rollercoaster of emotions, it’s not gonna work!"
Reo Wilde
Four time Vegas champ
"The biggest advice I can give is to have fun. It's archery. We're going to beat ourselves up a million times. Just have fun. And let, you know, the distance is the same, the circle's the same size. Just shoot like you do at home and have a good time!"
Lisell Jaatma
Multiple indoor world medallist
"Try to not think too much! Just enjoy it and hopefully all the arrows go to the ten!"
Casey Kaufhold
Twice a Vegas champ, Olympic medallist
"Get to your target early, so you can hang it anywhere you want. Some people are superstitious about, oh, they want to start bottom first or they want to start top first. They like the left or the right side of the bale. Like just get there early, get it out of your mind and then go shoot some practice shots if you have time!"
Mike Schloesser
Twice a Vegas champ, winner of everything there is to win in compound.
"Just go day by day. Just go survive one day and then the next day and the next day.
Just make sure that you shoot 30 good arrows and if not learn from them because it's a unique experienc! There's a lot of things that you can learn from this event."
Brady Ellison
11 time Vegas champ.
"Vegas is a lot of fun. Come here and have fun, right? But it's also the biggest paycheck of the year. So, like, not going out and having fun and gambling and getting your eyes on all the screens and doing all that kind of thing. You know, making sure that you're not wearing yourself out, walking all over, visiting everything, doing all that stuff. You're inside all the time. Get outside, get some sun. Make sure that you don't overwhelm yourself with Vegas and still just stay focused on the shooting!"

There are some discussions that lose momentum after a few comments, but this wasn't one of them. Every time I thought I had reached the most useful part of the thread, another interesting reply appeared further down the page. I enjoyed seeing different viewpoints because it made the conversation feel genuine. As I continued reading, was brought up by multiple users and quickly became one of the central topics being discussed. Some members shared observations while others added follow-up questions, creating a discussion that felt active from beginning to end. What I appreciated most was that people were building on each other's comments instead of repeating the same points. That made the thread much easier to follow and far more useful…
