2021 Junior Scholarship Contest

For the 2021 Virtual Vegas Shoot, junior participants may apply for one (1) of the following contests: 

1. Essay Contest

The National Field Archery Association Foundation will award two (2) $500 scholarships to one male and one female archer in each age division (Cub, Youth, Young Adult) to use toward higher education. The winners will be chosen based on an archery essay. 

Essay submissions must fit an archery theme. Example topics include - an archery story, why you love archery, how archery has affected your life, what you have learned from archery, how COVID has affected archery, etc.
 

For Youth (12-14) & Young Adult (15-17) Applicants: Archers may submit one 500-1000 word essay per year. All submissions must be suitable for all audiences. Essays must be completely the work of the student entering the contest. No assistance in editing is permissible. 

For Cub (11 & Under) Applicants: Archers may submit one 200-500 word essay per year. All submissions must be suitable for all audiences. A parent or guardian may provide some assistance in typing, sentence structure, and spelling for readability purposes, but the essays should be the words and ideas of the student entering the contest. 

2. Art Contest

The National Field Archery Association Foundation will award two (2) $500 scholarships to one male and one female archer in each age division (Cub, Youth, Young Adult) to use toward higher education. The winners will be chosen based on an archery or Vegas Shoot poster. 

Students are invited to submit original, creative posters illustrating archery or The Vegas Shoot. Posters should promote archery, bowhunting, the NFAA, or The Vegas Shoot. 

Artwork may be created digitally or by hand. All submissions must be suitable for all audiences. Posters must be completely the work of the student entering the contest. No assistance is permissible.

Applicants must compete in the 2021 virtual Vegas Shoot. Top entries will be chosen by an independent panel. Winners will be announced and awarded by April 30, 2021. Winning entries will be published on thevegasshoot.com and in Quarter 2 of Archery Magazine.

Submission dates for both contests are February 12, 2021 to April 12, 2021 9:00 AM CST.
