47 Championship archers clean through Day 2 as flights begin

Some say the second day is easier, as the pressure not to miss is higher on the first and last day of shooting Vegas. But it didn't stop many Championship archers falling by the wayside.

Of Thursday's 62 perfect archers in the Championship Open class, only 39 of them remained perfect on Friday. (Of course, anyone on a total of 899 after tomorrow will still have an opportunity to qualify for the Lucky Dog shoot-off on Saturday evening).

Defending champion Mathias Fullerton of Denmark was still on top of the pack, leading the men's field with an extraordinary 60x 600. "I can't complain. My shooting feels amazing." he said. "Yesterday I felt a little unsure because it's like the first day, you never really know what to expect but today I knew I was shooting good. The bow is working perfect, [I've] just got to get the mind fully ready and I think it's gonna be a good one, " said the 21-year-old. Bodie Turner finished the day on 600 with 59X, just one behind Fullerton. "I like to see what the others shoot... I was hoping for Bodie to also clean it, you know we're really good friends and it would be cool to kind of share that moment with him," said Fullerton.

Just five women were left clean on 600 from the 14 who shot 300 yesterday: defending champion Tanja Gellenthien, Gracen Fletcher, Alejandra Usquiano, Jennifer Winsenne and Kaylee Geist. Geist, on top with 52X, said: “Today it was just get behind the bow, hold solid and shoot arrows, and it worked. There was definitely a little bit more nerves towards the end but I just kept running my process and kept the mind in the middle. I never even knew I was sitting in first. I’m just gonna hope I can shoot the same as I have been and pray that the arrows land where there need to be.”

Two archers in the senior compound category were still clean on Day 2 with 600: Grant Schleusner of Wisconsin and Tim Gillingham of Utah. The women's recurve competition was led after the second day by France's Victoria Sebastian on 589, two points ahead of the USA's Casey Kaufhold on 587. The men's competition saw Brady Ellison soar to the top of the leaderboard with 594, with five archers breathing down his neck on 593. Both Sebastian and Ellison shot scores of 298 today.  19 archers in the compound flights competition were clean on a score of 300.

Perfect Championship scores after second day of competition:

  • Championship Compound Open: 39

  • Championship Compound Female: 5

  • Championship Compound Senior: 2

  • Championship Compound Young Adult: 1

The shootdown finals will be held on Sunday afternoon, and can be watched live on Archery+ TV. For full results, please visit the Results page.

Crazy how many archers dropped that perfect score from Thursday to Friday. It really shows the mental game that goes into staying consistent under pressure, astrocartography pseuscience even on a “less intense” day. Love seeing how Fullerton and Turner push each other as friends, too.

It's wild how many archers dropped off between Thursday and Friday! Only 39 of the 62 perfect scores stayed perfect. I always nano banan pro wonder if that's more about the mental game slipping or just text graffiti generator small physical tweaks that add up. Shows how tough it really is to stay consistent at that level, even on a so-called "easier" day.

Zucchini noodles are a game-changer for lighter pasta nights. Have you tried them with a simple garlic and olive oil sauce? So good.

This post is really interesting, I enjoyed reading it! I’ve been playing with an AI tool recently that generates fun headcanons and quotes for characters and relationships. You just give a few prompts and it creates random or incorrect quotes, which is pretty fun for fandom lovers. If anyone is curious, here it is.

Thanks for sharing this thought-provoking article! The debate about whether chatbots truly understand text, like the 'stochastic parrots' idea, is fascinating. It's cool to see experts like Geoff Hinton and Emily Bender discussing this.
