1. Selecting the Right Division

Choosing the right division can greatly impact both your experience and your potential winnings, so it’s important to select the division that best matches your peers and expected performance. Divisions range from juniors to adults with a Championship division for each. To assist with your selection, view the full age breakdowns for each division on the registration page.

  • Championship Divisions

    • Competition Level: Designed for top-tier archers competing for the largest prizes.

    • Championship Shoot-Off Eligibility: All Championship ties for first, second, or third place will be broken at the Championship Shoot-Off under the lights at PH Live Theater on Sunday evening.

    • Lucky Dog Shoot-Off: Championship Open archers scoring 899 compete for a chance to join the Championship Shoot-Off.

    • $10K-A-Day: Shoot a 300 on Thursday or Friday to qualify, but be sure to select the $50 add-on during registration!

    • 900 Guarantee: All Championship archers who shoot a 900 are guaranteed a minimum prize of $2,500.

    • VIP Access: Includes a VIP All-Access pass with entry to all practice and bow storage areas.

    • Rules: Remember to review the championship division rules.

  • Flights Divisions

    • Eligibility: Perfect for a broader group of amateur archers, ages 12 and up.

    • Format: All archers compete together regardless of age or skill level for the first part of the event; after scoring begins, participants are placed into “Flights” (groups) based on their scores.

    • Competition: Archers ultimately compete only against others within their flight.

    • Prizes: Tiered cash awards based on flight placement.

    • Experience: Provides a less intense yet highly rewarding competition environment.

    • Participation: The largest divisions at The Vegas Shoot!

2. Equipment Classifications

Archers are separated into categories based on their equipment. Ensure your equipment aligns with your division for eligibility and prizes. Review all equipment rules before selecting your division. If you’re unsure which equipment class best suits you, please contact your State Director. Categories include:

  • Compound

  • Recurve

  • Compound Barebow

  • Recurve Barebow

  • Bowhunter - Read about the NEW rules for the Bowhunter division, following NFAA’s Modern Bowhunter Freestyle Rules

3. Add-Ons Worth Considering

  • Paid Practice: Paid practice halls are available to all archers and may be utilized during extended hours of the event. Practice hours are determined by tournament management and will be posted on the official schedule once available. Options include:

    • Event Practice Pass - $30

    • Event Practice FastLane Pass (limited quantity available!)  - $75

      • Grants exclusive access to a dedicated FastLane for shorter wait times.

  • Championship $10K-A-Day Eligibility: Championship archers can purchase this option to compete in the $10K-A-Day Shoot-Off on Friday and Saturday. Shoot a perfect 300 to enter the winner-takes-all shoot-off for that day.

4. Collegiate Divisions and Scholarships

Archers ages 12–17 have the opportunity to apply for the Junior Scholarship Contest, where the NFAA Foundation awards two $1,000 scholarships—one male, one female—to support higher education. Learn more about the application process and award details.

Collegiate archers have the additional opportunity to compete for team and individual scholarships. To participate, student-athletes must meet eligibility requirements and submit the necessary add-ons during registration.

  • Eligibility: Pay the $25 Collegiate Add-On during registration and hold a valid NFAA Collegiate Membership.

  • Competition: Participate in either the Flight or Championship competitions. Collegiate rankings from the first two competition days will be separated by Male and Female divisions for Compound, Recurve, Bowhunter, and Recurve Barebow.

  • Scholarship Awards: Awarded based on performance in both individual and team competitions.

    • Individual: The top three student-athletes in each division will receive scholarships to support their higher education.
