Arrival/Departure Planning

Travel Tips:

Airport: Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) — take advantage of direct flights from over 160 cities.

Dates and Times:

  • Arrive at least 1-2 days early for event check-in, practice, and acclimation.

  • Plan for possible early or late shooting line times; check the event schedule once released.

  • Allow extra buffer time for travel to/from the airport, especially if staying off-site.

Airport Transportation:

  • Uber/Lyft Rideshare: Before you arrive, download the Uber or Lyft app and set up your account with payment information. Once you’ve collected your baggage, follow the airport signs to the designated rideshare pickup zones in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Don’t forget to follow the safety guidelines recommended by your rideshare service for a smooth and secure experience.

  • Taxis: Follow signs to the designated taxi stands outside each terminal.

  • Rental Car: Locate the rental car shuttle stop after you claim your luggage.

  • Travel Time: Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip are typically a 15-minute drive from LAS, but allow plenty of extra time for unexpected traffic.

Rental Cars: When They're Worth It

Deciding whether to rent a car in Las Vegas depends on your plans and priorities. Here’s a quick guide to help you figure out when a car is necessary and when you can get by without one.

You may not need a car if you are:

  • Staying on the Strip and moving mostly between the preferred hotels.

  • Comfortable using hotel shuttles or rideshare services.

  • Trying to avoid parking fees and traffic stress.

You may need a car if you are:

  • Planning off-site excursions (Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam).

  • Transporting gear in bulk or traveling with family or a team.

  • Staying off-Strip and commuting daily.

Tips for renting a car:

  • Book early; rates can spike.

  • Factor in hotel parking fees.

  • Store gear securely and allow extra time for rental returns.
