32 archers make the 900 club at the 2024 Vegas Shoot

In the final day of scoring (and the last-ever day of competition at the South Point), 32 archers successfully finished at a clean 900 across 3 divisions.

The Championship Open division saw 27 archers qualify for the evening’s big shootoff, including Remington Boyer. Last year’s Lucky Dog winner joined the Vegas 900 club for the 1st time in his four trips to the tournament. “It was definitely a more stressful environment going into the last day clean. I’ve only shot 899s up to this point, so this is my first 900,” said the 22-year-old.

He will join other successful names like current World No. 1 Mike Schloesser, Nimes bronze medalist Nico Gerard, Indoor World Series gold medalist James Lutz, 2022 Vegas champ and 2024 Lancaster champion Bodie Turner, current World No. 7, Matthias Fullerton, two-time winner Kyle Douglas, and 2024 Lucky Dog Nick Kappers. Who will take the title this year? It’s truly anyone’s game.

Two women completed a perfect Vegas Shoot: current World No. 4 Tanja Gellenthien and World No. 1 Ella Gibson. Gellenthien is a three-time Vegas Champion, with two of those victories coming in the past three years. She ended her qualification round with a resounding triple X. Gibson, who tweaked her shot timing yesterday, is fresh off a silver medal at the Indoor World Series. She finished her first-ever Vegas 900 with a 300 27X this morning. Both archers are equally poised to take the crown in what promises to be a thrilling final shootoff.

Only three archers remained perfect outside of the Championship classes: Parker Baker (South Dakota, USA), Joseph Hershberger (Ohio, USA), and Kurt Johnson (Canada) finished the weekend at the top of the Compound Flights.

Only a few hours remain in the 58th edition of the 2024 Vegas Shoot, and they will be filled with next-level archery, special tributes, and highly-anticipated announcements.

The Championship Shootoffs will not only decide the winners of the Championship Open and Championship Open Female classes, but also decide the final standings of the other Championship classes: Three archers will compete for podium position in Championship Compound Young Adult, five archers will shoot for 3rd place in Championship Open Female, two archers will shoot for 2nd place in Championship Senior, two archers will shoot for 2nd place in Championship Recurve Young Adult, and two archers will shoot for 3rd place in Championship Recurve Barebow Open.

In the penultimate moment of the evening, the Championship Open and Open Female leaders will battle for the 2024 Vegas Title. Finally, the newest location of the Vegas Shoot will be named in a much anticipated announcement. The Shootoff and all relevant announcements will be live streamed at 5:30pm PST exclusively on Archery+ TV.
